Floating Thoughts

I walk around the house, doing the regular chores. You know what they are. While doing them, thoughts and writing themes dance in my head. They run about three sentences long and because I don’t take the time to write them down, they evaporate. The next day, I might try to crystallize those ideas I had. Now, what was it I was writing in my head yesterday? Maybe a word or two or a short phrase pop up, but alas, I can’t remember them when my hands rest on my computer keys as I stare at a blank page. So, here’s a novel idea: Take just a minute and jot those thoughts down. Carry that little notebook in your pocket. (Wild idea, but we do it with cell phones, right?) Or you could hang it around your neck like an amulet that brings superhuman abilities. We may need that to ignore all the distractions and write. However, on second thought, don’t wear it. You’ll get a crick in your neck – another distraction. Rather, just write those floating thoughts on something tangible and I’ll continue to work on the same, just like you. You never know, it just might turn into a book. Diana, Sally and I discovered that when we gathered all those thoughts and ideas to create our book, Telling Tales and Sharing Secrets.
